Harbour Transit Proceedures

Transit Procedure for entering and leaving the harbour

SLJV (Sisk Lagan Joint Venture) has provided a document outlining Transit Procedures through the harbour for the duration of the works. Please read this document carefully.

Update Monday 29th June 2009

Sisk Lagan has issued updated instructions to protect the safety of divers working in the area of the new pier ends.

With effect from Monday 29th June a Banksman on the North & South Breakwater will be in possession of a Fog Horn at all times and should a boat with an outboard come too close to the dive work area he will sound the Fog horn 3 times to attract the attention of the boat users. All powerboat users should be aware of this procedure and initiate a stand fast action until advised to proceed by the relevant Banksman.

All boats should give a wide berth to the area around the pier ends at all times. This is particularly important when you see the A flag being flown to indicate that divers are below the surface.

Please check this page regularly for changes to these proceedures.
