The new Clubhouse was formally handed over to the Trustees and Officers of the club just prior to Christmas. However, as it was the last day before Sispar closed the site before the holidays, there was no access to the new clubhouse over the Christmas period. The club expects the contractor to begin the fit-out on Monday 11th January and therefore there is a window of 1 week for the members to be shown around the new clubhouse.
Our Treasurer, Glen Reid, will co-ordinate and organise chaperoned small groups of up to 10 members during this period.
The tours will begin at the fencing immediately adjacent to the fishermen’s huts at the west corner of the GSC new pen. As we are accessing an operational site belonging to Sispar, even though they will not be working at the weekend, extreme care is required and necessary for everyone’s safety.
The following restrictions will apply for the visits:
Only members are allowed and under 12 are not permitted due to insurance restrictions.
Appointment is necessary to ensure we have manageable groups, you cannot just turn up on the day
You will be required to remain with the group and cannot just wander around the site/ clubhouse
There will be tour slots as follows:
10.30-3pm Saturday in 30 min intervals
Outside of these times we will see what the demand is like and will try to accommodate in a further session on Sunday.
If you wish to view the Clubhouse, please email directly Glen at treasurer@gsc.ie with your mobile number and preferred date/time to visit. You will receive an email confirmation of your visit. Please try to be on time as we will have a busy schedule over the weekend. Please don’t just turn up as we need to adhere to safely considerations. The rest of the clubhouses are not complete and have not been handed over so we must remain on our property at all times, other than the general courtyard access and the pens.
