Dinghy kick-off meeting: Thursday 19th March
Lookahead to the dinghy sailing season for 2026. All welcome.
Doors open at 7 for 7.30 start

Commodore's Reception – 23 May – Le Mans–style relay race
To mark Chris's Commodore's Reception this season, we’re using the occasion to lure back as many past, present, and mysteriously vanished sailors and families as possible for a proper club family day.
Naturally, this involves sailing.
Inspired by the 24-hour heroics of 24 Hours of Le Mans — but with slightly more mercy — we’ve negotiated Chris down to a six-hour Le Mans–style relay race.
The Plan:
- A rectangular “stadium” course just off the clubhouse balcony (heckling encouraged).
- 10:30 start, ~16:30 finish. Most laps wins. Stamina optional.
- Dinghies of any type, racing on PY.
- Teams of any size. Swap sailors as often as you like—RIB chauffeurs will shuttle competitors between boat, harbour, balcony, and bar.
- All ages welcome. Every team member is encouraged to sail at least one lap. Shore-based tacticians, motivators, and clipboard-holders are equally vital.
There will be numerous high-calibre prizes for notable contributions (heroic, comic, or otherwise), plus something for first place. All boats will be recognised in some fashion — glorious or incriminating.
Off the water: BBQ, the EPCR Challenge Cup Final on screen, and music into the evening after prizegiving. It is, in short, a family day with optional sailing attached.

We will also need volunteers (a few hours each) to helm RIBs, coordinate changeovers, flip burgers, and count laps from the balcony with an air of authority.
